7% fewer passengers over the month of June
Over the first six months, 11% fewer passengers have come through the airport
Over June, a total of 20.731 passengers have come through the airport. This is 7% less compared to June of 2008, when the number of passengers was 22.293.
To date, a total of 91.542 passengers have come through the airport. This is 11% less compared to the same period last year, when the figure stood at 102.813.
Over the first six months a decrease has been recorded on all scheduled flights, with the exception of the route to Iceland, where an increase of 9,7% has been recorded. On the scheduled flights to Denmark, a decrease of 8,8% has been recorded, to Norway 38,1% and to Great Britain 49,4%, respectively. There has been no offshore activity this year, while 1.275 passengers were transported offshore over the first six months last year.
In June there were 488 arrival and departure flights. This represents 10,6% less compared to June of 2008, when 546 aircraft arrived and departed through the airport.
For the first six months, there were 2.197 flight operations through the airport. This is 21,8% less compared to the corresponding period last year, when 2.809 aircraft arrived and departed through the airport.
Over June the total amount of airfreight lifted was 86,2 tons, which corresponds to a 19,9% increase, compared to June of last year, when the airfreight figure stood at 72,0 tons.
Over the first six months the total amount of airfreight was 406,1 tons, corresponding to 1,9% less, compared to the same period last year, when the figure was 413,9 tons.
