9,4% more passengers for the month of March
Over the first quarter of 2010, a total of 37.466 passengers arrived and departed through the airport
March saw a total of 14.631 passengers travel through Vagar Airport. This is 9,4% more compared to March of last year, when the corresponding figure was 13.371. Increases were recorded on the scheduled routes to Denmark and Iceland, with 7,9% and 28,3% respectively. The domestic helicopter service has also seen an increase in passenger numbers. On routes to Norway and Great Britain however, March of 2010 saw a decrease in passenger numbers.
Over the first quarter of 2010, a total of 37.466 passengers came through the airport. This is 1,8% more compared to the same quarter last year, when the corresponding figure was 36.810. To date for 2010, scheduled routes to Denmark have recorded a decrease, while increases have been recorded on all other routes.
Over March, a total of 415 aircraft have arrived and departed. This is 30,9% more compared to March of last year, when 317 aircraft came through the airport.
Over the first quarter of 2010 a total of 1.037 aircraft arrived and departed. This represents an increase of 17,2%, compared to the corresponding quarter of last year, when 885 aircraft came through the airport.
